The Flower Girl:Death: The unknown, demons, good spirits, love, going close to Heaven, and coming back. Grief, loss, the promise that things work out in the end between Tyler and Aaron, a young teenage girl and boy, lifelong friends who talked about getting married one day. They grew through childhood innocence, doing what children do to puberty and seeing each other in a different, more romantic way. This book is about hope, loss, and faith: the hope of reacquainting with a loved one who died, the pain of loss that comes with their death, and faith that all will be well again. Spirits awaken when Aaron tries to hold a séance with a group of his and Tyler's friends. The friends stop, spooked after a strange thing happens. Aaron tried the séance again years later. This time, he completes it. Tyler had died. He wanted to talk with her. They will be together again, she said, after coming back to see him. But first, a demonic force had to be defeated.

Autorenporträt
The Flower Girl is one of three novels I plan to publish. I have a Master of Social Work degree and undergraduate degrees in social work and psychology. Experience working with adults with mental illness and in child welfare and completing three novels have helped me hone my writing skills. Two songs that influenced my writing of this book are Led Zeppelin's Achille's Last Stand and George Harrison's My Sweet Lord. Achilles Last Stand is one of my favorite songs. The song, to me, is about humanity's quest to know and death freeing one's soul from the constraints of earth. Upon death, there is no need for mythology, such as the myth of Achilles, to make sense of our experience, as with death comes enlightenment and, finally, the knowledge of what awaits us. Death is Achille's last stand.
