Safe adequate water supply, improved sanitation and good hygienic practice is an essential foundation for improved welfare, economic productivity , better health and essential for the survival and development of children. However; the level and coverage of water sanitation and hygiene(WASH) standard of developing countries was not enough to result in the aforementioned impact. For several decades government, non governmental organizations and institution had been focusing on intervention of individual component of water sanitation and hygiene, ignored sustainability issues and inadequate monitoring of interventions. This document try to address the situation and level of WASH coverage as single and combined coverage while it also discussed the association of WASH with acute diarrhea in under five children. In doing so, I tried to highlight WASH intervention and reduction of under five acute diarrhea with the context of developing countries. The document also raised the issues related to sustainable development goal targets and indictors so that gearing the shift to attain sustainable development goal (SDG) within the planned time frame will be possible.
