The book by B.Z. Bakeyeva is devoted to the study and analysis of the formation of the institution of Kyrgyz Soviet statehood in the 20-30s of the twentieth century. Based on extensive factual material, it reveals the prerequisites for the establishment of the Kyrgyz Soviet statehood, aspects of political and socio-economic life of Kyrgyzstan in the period under study, defines the role of the national intelligentsia of the region in political processes, reveals the circumstances and main stages of the Basmachi movement, reflects the implementation of the national-state division of Central Asia in 1924. Of particular interest in the monograph is the fact that so far the history of the Soviet period, including the development of anti-Soviet movements in Kyrgyzstan, has not received its true, historically correct assessment. On the basis of archival research carried out by the author of the monograph, new information of importance for the reconstruction of an objective picture of the political processes of the formation of the Kyrgyz Soviet statehood of this period has been introduced into the scientific turnover.
