Dann W Hone has over 50 years of travel to the Near East and is one of the founding members of the BYU Jerusalem Center for Near Eastern Studies. He was responsible for training and teaching Jerusalem Center faculty and students in history, archaeology, geography, and scriptures. He received his B.S. in Political Science/International Relations from Brigham Young University (BYU), and an M.A. in Biblical History/ Historical Geography from the Jerusalem University College. He holds emeritus status with BYU, teaching for many years as an instructor for the BYU Department of Ancient Scripture. Dann has written numerous articles, study guides, and textbooks on the ancient and modern Near East. Following retirement from BYU, he entered back into teaching as adjunct faculty in the Department of History and Political Science at Utah Valley University. He is a guest lecturer for church and civic audiences in continuing education courses, conferences and seminars, fi resides, radio, and television. Dann continues to serve as the Managing Director at the School of International Studies and directs educational travel, having assisted over 60,000 people to many parts of the world. He is married to his eternal companion of fi fty years, Shirley Rae Stokes, and with her is the parent of 6 children, 23 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren
