She hopelessly and tirelessly goes through heartbreaking relationships leaving her to doubt her own ability to love and be loved. To compound her problems, she is from a conservative Islamic African background that views marriage and child rearing as a necessity/obligation for every woman. She represents a clash of cultures and is ultimately torn in between accepting her African or Western cultural belief systems pertaining to gender, marriage, love, and divorce.
