Imagine you are 12 years old in 1959, live in a tough, post-World War II, ethnically mixed New York neighborhood, and spend most of your summer in the basement of a local diner run by a Greek guy of questionable character. You fetch cigarettes, beer, and sandwiches from "upstairs" for five adult hoodlums (one carries a small pistol in his back pocket) who seem to play an endless game of five-card draw poker. TJ lives in rural Kentucky at the edge of a 1200 acre thoroughbred horse farm with his wife, Candace, and their two dogs, Patsy Cline and Sarah Rarah
