In the analytical review mosaic technology is investigated as a promising fundamental basis for the ultimate nano- and microminiaturization of ultra-high dimensional photodetectors. Characteristic fundamental approaches and models, theoretical and semiempirical prototypes, developed technological layouts and created research samples of ultra-high dimensional mosaic photodetectors (MFDs) with maximum image conversion efficiency are analyzed. The methodology of the comparative analysis of the image conversion efficiency and MFD operation principles of extra-high dimensionality was developed. The modern fundamental groundwork for the creation of MFPs with the maximum efficiency of image conversion has been formed. The technological prototypes of MFPs of extra high dimensionality have been proposed. An optical methodology to achieve the ultimate image conversion efficiency has been developed, and the possibility of creating MFPs without loss of elements in the generated images has been shown. The methodology for analyzing the temperature resolution of MFPs has been further investigated. The achieved level of mosaic technology of ultra-high dimensional photodetectors with maximum image conversion efficiency is considered.
