Forgiveness is the least talked about, but most important leadership soft skill because it enables heart-centered leaders to more consistently listen, lead and live as they intend to. Without forgiveness our fear, resentment, shame and suspicion will quietly interject themselves into our daily thoughts and behavior. This slowly erodes trust, steals joy and guides us down paths of mediocrity and loneliness. The Funny Thing About Forgiveness uses applied improv, mindfulness practice and relatable human stories to teach leaders a unique, heart-centered approach to culture transformation. Reviewers continue to note that this book is a powerful tool for leadership development and culture transformation, as well as personal growth and self healing. The book provides a uniquely simple and approachable definition and plan for forgiveness - treating what was once an abstract concept as a new part of a concrete, daily self care routine. The book also offers strategies rooted in Mindful Improv Thinking¿ for brave conversations regarding boundaries, consequences, accountability or other interpersonal follow up after forgiveness work is done. This is a book for heart-centered leaders (in any leadership role - even those leading families, movements, classrooms and churches without an official leadership title) who want to find more joy and peace in their lives and work, and who want to build world-changing cultures through intention and integrity. The book can be read be whole teams, families or faith communities to build a shared language around forgiveness, accountability and alignment within the group.
