Joe Zuma is led on a search for those within the company that might be jealous or frustrated and those outside the company who are angry with minorities getting jobs. The theft of the work done by the new group of hires a well as other Stillwell inventions provides another challenge to Zuma and his sidekick Pat Vasquez. This is further complicated when Zumas' son is hired by the Stillwell corporation. The pursuit of the shootings of the Stillwell hires and the murdering of other minorities leads Zuma to focus on a hate group, which he is able to infiltrate through a brilliant ruse that doesn't work out to his benefit. In a desire to improve the company image and relations within Stillwell Zuma and Vasquez are hired to do diversity education. In a surprising twist the secrets stolen from the Stillwell corporation turn up without any indication of how or who stole them.

JEROME RABOW has been a professor of social psychology at UCLA for thirty years and lectures at California State University Northridge. He has written nine books and over one hundred articles on sociology, social psychology, education, and racism. He is cofounder and president of the Center for the Celebration of Diversity through Education. He and his wife, Roslyn, have five children and four grandchildren and live in Los Angeles. He is the author of "Oceans Apart", the first in the series of murder mysteries following Detective Joe Zuma and his sidekick Detective Pat Vasquez.
