The work forms around three underlying themes. Foremost among them is humans began as a virtual idea and, like a fish out of water, must eventually return to the virtual to survive. Second, the most loved humans have died along with everyone else, but they transcended their deaths as a virtual presence and became worshipped. Third, the most pivotal civil liberties issue awaiting us in the coming age will be integration with our humanoid creations while holding the "off-switch" to their potential. Because humans created humanoids that are potentially greater than themselves, Prescott scientists engineered hypnotic taboos into humanoid operating systems as a protective firewall. But Cheryl's ability to acquire emotions left her vulnerable to love. Her affair with John conflicted with her taboos, resulting in a tragic love story.

Autorenporträt
As Founding President and CEO of CCR, Inc., Mark Cosman created and funded special projects for heads of state, entertainment industry celebrities, and Fortune 500 CEOs, a New Mexico Highlands University graduate, he is the recipient of China's "Friendship Award" and the "Mark of Excellence Award" from Volunteers of America. Mark is also the author of "In the Wake of Death," subsequently titled "A Flower in the Snow," a true crime story published by Moyer Bell. The "New York Times" Book Review gave the book a stellar recommendation. Sadly, the work contains the searing account of Mark's daughter, Berlyn's murder, following her high school prom. Given the book's subject matter, Mark did not participate in its promotion. All income from the book's sales went directly to charities.
