He is the author of Peasants of Costa Rica and the Development of Agrarian Capitalism (1980), coeditor of Political Participation in Latin America, Volumes I and II (1978, 1979, with John A. Booth, Holmes, and Meir), and co-author of Maquiladoras and Migration (1982, with Williams). "
