While the boys are looking for clues related to the stolen hives, the story turns dark. James sees a woman beckoning to him from the upstairs window of Katie's house. After the woman beckons him again, James sneaks into Katie's house and discovers he can both see ghosts and talk with them. After the initial shock interacting with a real ghost, he finds out why she has been perpetually stuck in the upstairs bedroom. The boys solve the theft case (of course) but the problem then was how to tell Katie what James discovered upstairs. Oh, While James was upstairs there, the other ghost tried to kill him.
