Desde 2003, o autor é leitor, educador e estudioso de Cuidados Paliativos em África, tendo sido co-fundador do nascimento das orientações políticas de Cuidados Paliativos e da Palliative Care Association of Malawi -PACAM, tendo contribuído com quatro capítulos no Malawi e no Manual de formação de trabalhadores de saúde da Tanzânia.
