The son of a cattle rancher, early 20th century American novelist Peter B. Kyne penned dozens of works that would be popularly adapted into over 100 films in the first half of the 20th century. "The Go-Getter" is a moving parable of determination and entrepreneurial spirit that has inspired many readers since its first publication in 1921. It is the story of World War I veteran Bill Peck. Despite numerous setbacks in life, which include amputation and illness, Peck is filled with a spirit of plucky perseverance and determination to succeed. After convincing Cappy Ricks, the founder of a logging and lumber company, to give him a job opportunity, Peck demonstrates his worth quickly by securing a number of large orders for the company. This success prompts Ricks to present Peck with a challenge, that if successfully completed will lead to even more opportunity. Peck in response to this challenge utters the motto of the go-getter: "It shall be done". This edition is printed on premium acid-free paper.
