This is the life story of a boy born in the Great Depression who grew up in a small West Texas town. It is laced with humor, fun and family. A "rags to riches story", of a country boy who, through hard work, a working wife, perseverance and divine guidance became a wealthy entrepreneur. The author found God at age fifteen which set the course for the rest of his life. This is an engaging tale that recounts the author's journey from childhood and college, Bible school and an engineering degree. A church leader for fifty-eight years, airplane owner and pilot, inventor and pecan farmer. He is an accomplished business man who started and led Cortez III, a company that grew to over one thousand employees, and established a retail travel center and store. Johnny married very young, raised four children and recently celebrated seventy-two years of marriage. A hard worker, curious about everything, entrepreneur and avid patriot. Worked in a grocery store, grain elevator, raised pigs and worked on farms. In Bible school he worked on a chicken farm, a Funeral Home as a mortician's assistant, became a licensed aircraft engine mechanic and drafted into the Army during the Koren war. Over his lifetime he has made several million dollars, lost several million dollars and flirted with bankruptcy. Throughout all of the successes, failures, joy and tears, his faith in God remained constant. This is truly the story of a Good Life fueled by the Grace of God.
