Autorenporträt
Despite her strong Irish heritage, Diana Jo was born in the West Midlands of England in the early 1960s. The region, known as the ¿Black Country¿ since the mid-nineteenth century due to its numerous ironworking foundries, shaped her upbringing. Today, she resides in Cornwall, fulfilling her lifelong dream of living by the sea. For thirty years, Diana Jo has worked tirelessly as a children¿s social worker, also fostering many children. Her personal journey through childhood and adolescence gave her strength but also led to introspection into the complexities of human nature. She learned to discern the inherent good and bad in everyone, pondering the fine line between the two. The main character of her book, Leo, represents a blend of real-life children Diana Jo has encountered and cared for. He embodies aspects of a foster child she once nurtured, a troubled youth she advocated for, and possibly reflections of her own experiences ¿ good, bad, unwanted.
