Cilliers Breytenbach (Dr. theol., Munich 1983; Dr. theol. habil., Munich 1986) is professor emeritus at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and professor extraordinary at Stellenbosch University. He authored i.a. Nachfolge und Zukunftserwartung nach Markus (Zurich, 1984); Grace, Reconciliation, Concord (Leiden, 2010); and (with Christiane Zimmermann) Early Christianity in Lycaonia and Adjacent Areas (Leiden, 2018).
