'The problem with Facebook is, you can't fail at life in private.' Madeline Cain has made it! A New York City adventure and acceptance into a world famous photography school in Greenwich Village. What else could await an Australian in the big city but glamour, fun and kickass photo opportunities? All she needs is Facebook to brag to family and friends back home and she's set. Right? Right?? Not quite. From the moment she's forced to make ends meet by accepting a job as a pizza delivery girl chaos becomes a close friend, much to the delight of her growing Facebook followers. As Madeline struggles not to embarrass herself in front of her hot (but taken) neighbour, Kevin, she must survive abusive umbrellas, deliveries to cross-dressing dwarfs, and completely unwarranted FBI questioning. Things move from the crazy to the ridiculous when she accidentally blackmails Kevin's millionaire girlfriend with photos of her cheating on him. Does Madeline accept the bribe money she desperately needs or protect her budding relationship with Kevin the hottie? Written as though you are reading Madeline's Facebook page, 'The Grand Adventures of Madeline Cain' is a modern tale that will leave you in stitches.

Autorenporträt
Emily Craven was first inspired to placed pen to paper when she was 12, after she learnt her favourite author, Isobelle Carmody, began her first novel at 14. Emily finished the first draft of her fantasy and travel novel manuscripts while completing a Bachelor of Science (Space Science and Astrophysics) at the University of Adelaide. So technically, she can claim to be an astrophysicist (stars), geophysicist (rocks) and writer (crazy). She writes YA fiction, Fantasy and nonfiction. Emily lives in Australia and yes, back when she was a teenager her high school had its own herd of Kangaroos. She's been to almost every continent (Africa being her weakness in continent-domination) and has the pretty photographs to prove it (though probably less professional then Madeline Cain...) . In 2010 Emily decided life wasn't interesting enough and decided trying to write a novel in a month. Definitely not insane enough to try writing a fantasy novel, she chose to do a comedy based in Facebook. She created a Facebook event and threw her plot line to the winds, asking her assortment of friends to give her their best ideas, which included chameleons, umbrella's called Laani, triplets, a transvestite dwarf book club and a group of disturbed university students. Emily sites November 2010 as the only month she could legitimately claim her hours on Facebook as "research". An avid traveller and amateur photographer, Emily has travelled to New York City twice and plans to go back at least a dozen times more. All the photographs in this novel are taken by her. She plans to take Madeline all around the world, so stay tuned for the next Grand Adventure! THE SERIOUS STUFF Emily is an author, speaker, innovator and the creator of the Story City GPS app (www.storycity.com.au) which allows you to take part in a real-life choose your own adventure. Emily was the first person in the world to create real-life choose your own adventures and is the winner of the Brisbane City Council Innovation Award for her innovative storytelling projects. Emily has spoken to teenagers and teachers across Australia (keynotes, workshops and masterclasses) on ebooks, digital and multimedia storytelling and is the digital writer in residence at Brisbane State High School. She also on occasion podcasts her work; her latest is The Priori Podcast, a YA fantasy novel released a chapter a week on her website and iTunes (available at www.originalfantasy.com). She was previously the Digital Producer for if:book Australia (The institute for the future of the book) and QLD Writers Centre and has been featured in Money Magazine, Channel 7's 'The Great South East' and in various Courier Mail articles.
