SAMUEL HOPKINS ADAMS (1871-1958) was born in Dunkirk, New York, and worked as a political journalist and muckraker to impact public health issues, paving the way for laws regulating food and drugs. Adams also wrote biographies and a prolific amount of fiction, some under the pseudonym Warner Fabian and some adapted for film.
