The Great American Hustle is a humorous and dire political satire that denounces communism and questions the COVID-19 pandemic response. The collection of poems uses dissent to address the government, pandemic authorities, socialism, Marxism, communism, the media, and the school system. The purpose of the poem is to satirically entertain as well as question these current political divisions. The piece pulls no punches when criticizing both left-wing and right-wing ideologies and concepts. As the pandemic was used as an excuse to seize power without representation, The Great American Hustle brings representation to millions of people in a classic ranting tradition that would make Shakespeare proud. The story consists of ten independent poems. Each poem is eight stanzas long, those of which contain four lines in rhyme and written in perfect iambic pentameter.
