Herein the author examines Biblical prophecies regarding the Great Tribulation. Daniel (12:1) reports that this will be the greatest calamity ever visited upon mankind. Inward and outward pressures as well as divine, celestial manifestations will be causing people "to become faint out of fear" (Luk. 21:25, 26). All indications point to the Tribulation as lasting seven years. First half of the Tribulation will be dominated by wars and catastrophic natural phenomena. In the midst of the Tribulation, two witness-prophets will appear on the world scene. They will issue a final warning to the earth's inhabitants. During the second half of the Tribulation God's enemies will be hit by various plagues (Rev. 15, 16). If those days were not cut short, no flesh will survive (cf. Matt. 24:21, 22; Mark 13:19, 20). Nevertheless, we are assured that a great crowd, from every tribe, nation and tongue, which no man was able to number, will be saved (Rev. 7:9, 13, 14).
