Written by a novice hunter, this book describes the pursuit of adventure that hunting provided, for the first 70 years of his life. It begins by describing how the hunting bug bit. It continues through the experiences the author enjoyed from hunting with a Red Ryder BB gun on the family Kansas farm through hunting big game in various states in the US, many provinces in Canada, three countries in Africa and in New Zealand. The author graduated from the BB gun and progressed through many of the rifles and shotgun bores up to and including the 458 Lott in the hunts described in this book.

BILL YUNG was born and raised on a farm in Kansas and spent the first fifty years of his life, except for two years on active duty with the Army, living working and raising a family in that state. He graduated from Kansas State University with a BS and MS in Landscape Architecture and has been a practicing Landscape Architect for 43 years since his return from Vietnam in 1967. He started his own private practice in 1975 in Wichita, KS and remained there until 1990 when he moved his business to Branson, MO where he now resides with his wife of 48 years. His rural background has always kept him involved in farm life, raising cattle and crops, in addition to his professional design practice. He and his wife still prefer living as far from the urban lights as is practical. He hunted as a kid, as did most kids of his generation, and has hunted on a limited basis his entire life. He became interested in big game hunting in 1982 and has been hooked ever since. He always kept a journal about the experiences of each trip and over the years has compiled a massive stack of stories about every hunting and fishing trip he has taken, as well as all his travels abroad on a trip-by-trip basis. After being bitten by the writing bug, he has even written stories about his childhood and his experiences in Vietnam. At the encouragement from his wife, he decided to combine a few of those hunting stories, and the silliness involved in each, into this book. He does not consider himself an author but instead a storyteller. It is his opinion that we all have stories to tell, and it is truly a shame more people do not take up the pen.
