Autorenporträt
I'm Nik Haley, a composer, writer, husband and father who's worked from home his entire career, occasionally venturing out to conduct orchestras, record TV shows or perform at arenas like the O2 and Wembley. But mostly I compose music for TV from my home studio. I've faced many struggles over my career to balance my home life and working day and after a lot of trial and error, I've found some really effective solutions. I had the idea for The Happy HomeWorker in January 2020, right before the coronavirus pandemic began. Little did I know that HomeWorking was about to become such a hot topic! I'd grown tired of seeing so many blogs, articles and videos about what jobs people can do to make money working from home, yet very little content designed to help people once they start. So I started work on The Happy HomeWorker. It wasn't easy, especially once the lockdown started and I had to homeschool my kids on top of my workload. But it DID give me the chance to put my money where my mouth was and live out the advice I was busy giving others! Finishing the book felt great, and though I'll never leave music behind, it has proved to me that I also want to write more...both nonfiction and fiction, so watch this space!
