Rhys was deeply involved in the literary culture of his time, offering both original works and edited collections that brought together various voices in literature. His most notable achievement was the creation of the Everyman's Library series, which became highly influential by making high-quality literary works available to a broader audience. Rhys also contributed to the genre of ghost stories and supernatural fiction, with "The Haunters & The Haunted" being one of his key works in this area. He was married to Edith Rhys, and they had a daughter, Megan Rhys. Rhys's literary legacy endures through his editing work and his contributions to a wide range of genres.
