The basic aim of the book is to report the effects of the presence of dark energy on cosmological scenarios. Specifically, the book comprises of the following investigations: (1) Calculation of the Hawking temperature for an emergent gravity metric in the presence of dark energy (using k-essence model) where the background metric is taken to be (a) Schwarzschild, (b) Reissner-Nordstrom and (c) Kerr types. (2) Establishment of the analogues of the Friedman equations in cosmology in an emergent gravity scenario in the presence of dark energy. The deceleration parameter is then calculated for various scenarios. The background metric is taken to be Friedman-Lemaitre-Robertson-Walker (FLRW). Covering the key theoretical and phenomenological aspects of this active area of research, the book will be of great value to the students of cosmology.
