My will was bent towards every little impulse to fulfill my lust. I was filled with guilt, regret, and shame. I believed I was living, but I was a walking dead man. The good news is that God is filled with an abundance of kindness and mercy! He loved me even when I was against him. He loved me in my disobedience. Before I ever knew him, God made a way to give me life by sending Jesus to die for my rebellion and sins. He offered me his love and grace. I can't even let the approval of close family or friends curtail the work of God in my life. No, I live to please God; therefore, I will follow his leading in every area of my life no matter what! God, I like pleasing those around me, but I want to please you more! It can be difficult to go against the grain of my friends' or family's opinions, but if I'm walking with you, nothing else matters. Holy Spirit, give me the strength to be bold for you. You know what is best for me, so I choose to follow your leading everywhere. When a tough situation arises or a tough decision needs to be made, give me the wisdom I need. I surrender my life to you."
