Born and raised in a village on the coast of Portugal, I¿ris Carric¿o has loved to write ever since she learned how to. Although science is another one of her passions, having a Bachelor Degree in biomedical sciences and a Master's in forensic science, she has never stopped writing. When she was still in primary school, it was the first time she combined both her love for science and writing and published a story on the newspaper of a Science Centre in Portugal. Now, in her first novel The Healed, both of her passions are combined again.
