Merja Paksuniemi, Ph.D., is a Lecturer at the University of Lapland, Finland. She did her doctoral research about the teacher training colleges in Finland. She does post-doctoral research on war time children in Northern Finland during the Second World War. Her personal interest and research topics are school history, primary education, teacher education, teacherhood, teacher image, and war time in Northern Finland during 1939 to 1945.
