This book in Photographic essay of the decay of rural orphanage that has been abandoned. The style of photography is best described as urban photography. The photograph were originally going to be in black and white, but changed my mind when I saw the brilliant colors created by low light photography. Autorenporträt
This book is an accumulation of a lifetime of photography. My wife JeanAnn and I have been active in photography since we met. We own and operate the studio LaBelle Photos in Marquette, Michigan. We specialize in portrait and wedding photography. We have, however, been involved in all types of photography. We are comfortable photographing mountains in the North, deserts in the West, as well as swamps in the South. When the opportunity came along to photograph the interior of the abandoned Marquette orphanage, we jumped at it. In this book, we were fortunate to be able to collaborate with Melissa Meldrum who is responsible for the essays in the book. Her tireless research makes the photographs come alive. Melissa teaches in Ishpeming, Michigan. Without her efforts, this book would not have been possible.
