"A perfectly pitched horror story for young readers." Goosebumps meets Lockwood & Co. meets Small Spaces in this installment of the Penn Files, featuring amateur ghost hunter siblings who must take on a whole campground of horrifying ghosts-or lose themselves or someone they love to the in-between. Twelve-year-old Julian Penn and his eleven-year-old sister, Bella, have to spend the first week of their winter holiday with grandparents they hardly know-camping. Not only would Julian much rather stay home and watch Elf and all the holiday movies he wants, but it's also rumored that this campground is haunted. And Julian is so tired of seeing and fighting ghosts! He hopes the rumors aren't true. But that hope is dashed the second day of his holiday, when Julian and Bella come face to face with a giant ghost woman and her terrifying wild-eyed child. And then someone takes a "fun" run through a graveyard on the grounds, and more angry ghosts emerge. So many Julian can't keep track of them. And the worst part is, they talk-to Julian. He's the only one who can hear them. He's the only one who knows what they want: a life in exchange for disturbing their graveyard. When Julian's cousin takes another reckless graveyard walk and cracks off a piece of a grave, the angry ghosts demand a second life, and Julian realizes he can't keep ignoring them, hoping they'll go away on their own. He's never been all that courageous or confident he can do anything great-like beat an army of ghosts. But time is running out. Will he be able to save himself and the others-or will this require more courage than he can manage?
