Insights, anecdotes, encounters and backgrounds from his many different activities flow into his stories, as do his numerous travels and experiences with foreign peoples and cultures. And a good dose of humor lends his stories his characteristic lightness. The author, who describes himself as an artist of life, also wants to convey something of this art of living with his books. Dr. Erich Schröder, born in 1948, is a doctor, graduate engineer and political journalist. He has cared for patients in hospital and in his own practice and was active in the emergency services. His research activities focused on the effects of traffic noise on people. Dr. Schröder's varied professional activities have included - Management of an environmental protection association, - Head of corporate communications for a pharmaceutical company, - Head of a medical law working group, - foundation and management of a health policy association, - working as a freelance journalist in the healthcare sector. Numerous professional and private trips have taken him to North, Central and South America in particular.
