Produktbeschreibung
This book is 3-in-1. It includes two full illustrated children's stories and a chapter for adults. The combination of two stories and the help for adults together give common language, images, discussion questions, and practical application for understanding this crucial topic. Most people in the fields of child development, social work, and psychology agree that a pivotal factor in what occurs both inside and between people is the picture of self-worth that each person carries inside. This book is intended for young children and the significant adults in their lives: parents, grandparents, teachers, care-givers, and therapists. Children will find the artsy, playful Huckabirds appealing and will relate to their real life experiences. Adults desiring to give children a Christian perspective and to be intentional in raising healthy, whole-hearted children will be helped and encouraged by the teaching chapter in the back.

Autorenporträt
J. R. Huckaby has a BS in Elementary Education and an MS in Educational Psychology and Guidance. She has taught kindergarten, and served as both a middle school and high school counselor. Over the course of 15 years as a Licensed Professional Counselor in private practice, she has seen the deep waters of people's lives, and observed the destructive power of unhealthy fear responses. She has also seen the freeing power of constructive responses to those fears. Huckaby's first book, The Huckabirds Learn About Self-Worth, made the Friesen Bookstore Bestseller list in 2019. She plans further books in the series, each on a unique topic and learning opportunity. Huckaby lives in Tennessee with her husband, Rod. They have three adult married sons, and three grandchildren.
