This research argues that the primordial role of educational leadership is emotional as it is reflected in symbolic and transformational leadership styles. However, leaders also have emotions whose negligence can be at the detriment of their role. Emotionless educational contexts are dysfunctional to the educational leader and whole organizations. The research does not focus solely on the intellect of leaders, but on their whole person given that emotional development is part of learning.
