In spite of its benefits, in terms of strengthening local capacity, the cost of aid dependency in Sierra Leone has been very high. It has weakened national ownership and accountability, has led to revenue instability, corruption and high inflationary problems. Blessed with natural resources, Sierra Leone should start looking inwardly for solutions. This shift, will contribute towards transforming the economy from a low income country to a middle income country.
