This study attempts to investigate the mutual dialectal exchanges between the urban dialect of Tlemcen and the rural dialect of Ain el Hout, aiming at determining the degree of influence of both dialects on each other. It also tries to deduce the characteristics of both of them. Based on a sociolinguistic analysis and on the linguistic history of each variety, this study further relies on the Structuralist Approach of Pierre Bourdieu, with all its terminological concepts for the interpretation of the results obtained.
