The main objective of the study was to examine the impact of training and development on employee performance, using the selected hospitals as case study. The study therefore aimed at identifying training and development programs used at the selected Hospitals in Ghana, determine the factors influencing training and development programs and examining the effect of training and development programs on employee performance. The study revealed that the training and development programs in the hospitals included training on ICT, personality development, training on leadership and management skills, cross culture training and people management and communication skills. The study also revealed that there is a significant positive relationship between training and development and employee performance. Again, the factors that influenced training and development included, financial resources, need to enhance productivity introducing new approach and processes to complete task, the existence of training and development policies and management commitment to training. The study recommended that an appropriate budget should be allocated at all times.
