L'auteur a grandi dans une zone rurale autour de Mankweng, dans la province du Limpopo. Il est le deuxième enfant de sa famille. Il est marié et a deux enfants. Il a obtenu une maîtrise en enseignement des langues à l'Université de Limpopo. Passionné par les langues, il a étudié la lecture et l'écriture en langue maternelle sepedi et a écrit un livre sur ce sujet.
