With the interconnection between the disciplines of Anthropology, Economics and Sociology, we addressed the contribution that the social and economic sciences can make to the valorization of the industry, in order to create jobs and thus contribute to the eradication of poverty. We concluded that all the efforts made to rehabilitate the sugar industry have led to the flourishing of the Marromeu district. On the other hand, it is essential to highlight the development strategies adopted in the country, by characterizing the Mozambican economic system itself, economic evolution, as well as the investment framework and the development of the private sector. The work addresses issues related to the concept of development in its various stages, where we sought to establish its historical evolution and the case study, on "The importance of the Marromeu sugar factory complex - Sofala province in Mozambique - in socio-economic development for the community", where the various trajectories of the sugar factory and the current situation of the district in social terms are presented.
