Currently with the rise of social networks, especially Facebook, college students have been adopting the use of idioms, this new style of expressing an idea with few words, which is being coupled nimbly in their vocabulary, clearly breaking the rules of the grammar of the Spanish language. These idioms have been taken out of social networks by people, in order to identify themselves in different social groups. And in the case of university students they have taken it beyond their social groups, making use of them in their academic training, because they are accustomed to use them as part of their vocabulary and writing. In this research we will analyze how it is influencing and affecting the social and educational life of university students who have not been able to separate themselves from this trend, that is, learning to use this type of abbreviations exclusively in social networks where there is a limit of spaces.
