Maria Gannakou ist Bildungskoordinatorin am Regionalen Zentrum für Bildungsplanung in Ioannina, Griechenland. Sie hat einen Master und einen Doktortitel in Bildungsgeschichte von der Katholieke Universiteit Leuven. Ihre Forschungsschwerpunkte sind Geschichte des Unterrichts, Geschichte der Lehrpläne, Bildungspolitik und Soziologie der Bildung.
