The game of football as we knew it has drastically changed. It is no more just about two teams chasing a round ball; the game nowaday revolves around revenues, sponsorships, partnerships, commercial deals and foreign capitals in various shapes and forms. How are the different Leagues adapting to this changing environment? In this thesis, I will try to depict the status of the British and the Italian championships, with the first being way more developed even thanks to cultural and historical reasons. In order to prove my case, I have also studied two cases among top clubs in the two Leagues: Manchester United and F.C. Internazionale.
