Produktbeschreibung
Shannon McGurk and Dr. Jim Schnell provide an illuminating range of interpersonal communication dynamics that are relevant to fatherhood. Topics such as perception, language, listening, nonverbal communication, intrapersonal communication, self-disclosure, cohesiveness, relational deterioration, transactional analysis, cross-cultural communication, power, conflict and ethics are addressed and vivid examples are conveyed to ensure reader understanding and appreciation. McGurk presents provocative illustrations relevant to effective fatherhood that draw from deep insights with the human condition. Schnell, in turn, builds upon his expertise with human communication to analyze how these processes unfold as they do. Fathers (past, present and future) will find these developments to be exceedingly relevant. The changing cultural context that men father their families within necessitate continual re-evaluation and assessment of how we approach our most important parenting tasks. This book offers optimistic guidance in that zone of control that fathers work within. A solid resource that can lead to solid results.
