The wellbeing of children especially in the rural Limpopo Province of South Africa is of concern. The project was aimed at introducing growth monitoring at pre-schools where most children under the age of five are found. The reason behind was that these children are no longer taken to the health facilities for growth monitoring once they have completed their 18 months immunization schedule. children of under five are more vulnerable for the development of malnutrition. Therefore, once growth monitoring and promotion program is extended to pre-schools, most children can be reached and their growth, health and nutritional needs can be identified and addressed.
