Jerry Ziemer was born in Stoughton, Wisconsin, and raised in Milwaukee. He spent his junior year of high school in Los Angeles, California, and his first year of retirement with his wife of fifty-six years, Julie, living near their oldest son and his family in Manhattan, New York. They have three children, Karen, Paul, and Chris, twelve grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren.Jerry Ziemer owned a sign company, Design Craft Signs, in Hales Corners, WI, for thirty-nine years. They turned their home in Hales Corners, into a bed and breakfast, The Lawson House, for eight years before retirement. They currently live on the southwest side of Milwaukee, in a cute little condo.
