Find Strength, Peace, and Hope in the Midst of Hurt Your heart is aching, and you are filled with sadness. You are faced with the reality that the grandPARENTing road in your life is closed. You have been given no choice but to take a detour down a path that is very different from the one you had envisioned. Regrettably, you find yourself on a new journey--a journey down the bumpy road of family alienation and estrangement. You wonder where God is in the midst of all your hurt, you wonder how to repair your broken family, and you wonder how you will ever make your way through the feelings of rejection and hopelessness. Biblical truths, relevant research, and specific tools and strategies for navigating the heartbreaking journey of family estrangement are explored in this book. Topics addressed include forgiveness, reconciliation, negative emotions, boundaries, family relationships, family dynamics, and more. Words from the Bible provide counsel and offer assurance that God, our source of comfort and strength, is indeed with us and "is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine" (Ephesians 3:20 NIV). Find peace for the present, hope for the future, and know that you are not alone on this journey!

Over the years Carolyn has spent much time teaching and coordinating children's minstry programs. Upon becoming an estranged mother and grandmother, her life changed course. Instead of focusing on best practices for teaching reading and connecting children to Jesus, Carolyn gave full attention to navigating the heartbreaking journey of family alienation and estrangement. She launched a support group at her church and wrote a faith-based workbook for the curriculum. This book, The Journey of GrandPARENT Alienation and Estrangement was written for the purpose of providing a resource for other estranged parents and grandparents to read and then form faith-based suppport groups in their own localities.
