Who would have thought that an imaginary kiss in her pocket could help with her first day of school jitters and anxieties? But... it did the trick! Based on the author's true-life experience with her own child, this whimsical rhyming story was penned the very afternoon of her eldest daughter's first day of school. The emotions were raw and fresh as the story tumbled out onto paper that cool September day back in 1998. A family favorite for years, the story was finally put into print, hoping to be an encouragement to children and parents alike, dealing with separation anxiety. The moments in time are so short when fears and worries can be solved with a simple kiss! Creating The Kiss in Her Pocket was my way of celebrating those moments. I hope reading it, becomes yours. Autorenporträt
An avid poet, storyteller and essay writer in her younger years, Paula set it all aside to concentrate on raising her family; only very rarely stopping over the years for a few moments to write. When a job offer came her way at a turning point in her life back in 2014, Paula jumped on it. Part of the job description involved writing, and just like that, her passion for writing was reignited. Always notably now with a pen and journal in her hand, Paula writes, on and off the job. Her stories revolve around family and children, milestones, big and small. After living in the greater Toronto area her whole life, Paula now lives in south western Ontario in a smaller town in Oxford county. Her hope is that `The Kiss in her Pocket" will be the first in a long series of children's books dealing with real life solutions to everyday stressful family situations.
