Éric Crubézy brings the forgotten stories of past populations back to life through their funeral rites and their history. A member of the Institut Universitaire de France, doctor and archaeologist, he combines science and humanities to unveil the mysteries of ancient burials. Working alongside INRAP archaeologists and forensic pathologists from the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Toulouse, he studied two lead sarcophagi discovered during the excavations of Notre-Dame de Paris. This book reveals the secrets of a fascinating investigation that combines archaeology, history, medicine, and literature. Éric Crubézy est professeur d'anthropologie biologique et de paléogénétique, directeur d'un laboratoire du CNRS, spécialiste d'archéologie funéraire. Il dirige les missions archéologiques françaises en Sibérie orientale.
