"Mary Lee Bragg's mature first book introduces a wise and sharp-eyed observer of people, times and places. In poems of love and loss, she explores the human landscapes of an imperfect world, alert to its joys and ironies. In the book's middle section, Problems of the Heart, Bragg faces open heart surgery, and her own mortality, with resolve, humour, and the love of life that shines through this collection."--
