Rather than be drafted, he enlists into the US Marines. Upon completion of his training, his squadron is sent to Vietnam. Jose volunteers for a mission to a Forward Operating Base, where he and his crew chief are instrumental in defending the FOB during a Viet Cong attack. He suffers terrible wounds but finds his heroism is rewarded with decorations for valor.
Autorenporträt
Tom Martin makes his home in Surprise, Arizona. He grew up in Snohomish, Washington, graduating from high school in 1961. Upon graduation, he served four years in the U.S. Marine Corps before returning to Washington for a career in telecommunications with the Bell System. Upon retiring in 2002, Tom moved from Washington to Arizona. He began writing novels in 2012 and to date, has written five books. The Last Flower and Johnson House Mystery were initially released in February of 2015. The Storyteller and Gold Star Mother were released in 2016. His fifth book, Journeys, a compilation of seven short stories, will go to publishing in early 2017, with an expected release date in late spring.
