When not writing he spends his free time outdoors riding the back roads in the country around him, taking in the sights and scenes that nature has to offer. He is also an avid arts and crafts enthusiast making many different things like scroll sawing designs, lamps, Western-style clocks, and guns from the Old West, all made out of wood. when not writing or enjoying the outdoors he likes to spend time in his workshop making all the above.
